Only the best for our child

Parents want for their child to be happy, they should have it better than their parents. They envision the future of their Children. Most of their dreams consist out of the job, family, children, a house and to plant a tree ...

When they find out that their son loves a man or their daughter loves a woman, everything gets mixed up. How could their child become happy now? What will the others say?

Parents then feel disappointed and ask themselves what is the mistake we have made. They fear their neighbours tattling and worry about the future of their children.

Often parents only have poor knowledge about homosexuality. They need time to get in touch with the new situation. Questions and thoughts arise.

  • What have I done wrong?
  • What does this mean for my family?
  • Can I do something against it?
  • Why did he/she do this to me?
  • How will the future of my child look like?
  • How can I deal with it?
  • To whom I can talk to?
  • In this phase it is particularly important to talk. Not only the parents should talk to each other, it is also necessary for the parents and their child to talk candidly and it´s helpful if parents can talk to other parents which have been in the same situation.
